锆刚玉是以氧化铝、氧化锆为原料在电弧炉中经2000℃以上高温冶炼而成。锆刚玉化学成份：锆刚玉主晶相为α-Al2O3,次晶相为斜锆石，还存在少量玻璃相。 锆刚玉锆刚玉物理属性：锆刚玉质地坚韧,结构致密,强度高,热震性好，一般呈灰褐色。本产品耐火度高，耐磨，耐冲刷，具有很好的抗渣性、抗侵蚀性和粘附性，能减少铸件的气孔率，提高铸件的光洁度和铸件的质量，有很好的自锐性，磨削性能。
锆刚玉根据ZrO2的含量，低锆刚玉(ZrO2 10%~15%)，中锆刚玉(ZrO2 25%)，高锆刚玉(ZrO2 40%)。

铬刚玉一般用于焚烧炉内衬、熔化炉、炼钢炉、铁合金、轧钢加热炉滑轨、玻璃退火炉、磁性材料烧结炉、耐火推板、水煤浆气化炉、炭黑反应炉、化肥炉等窑炉。
铬刚玉耐磨性能出众，用铬刚玉烧制的铬刚玉滑轨砖可用于轧钢加热炉出刚平台和炉底滑轨，一般使用周期为18个月，大大延长了轧钢炉滑轨砖的使用寿命。
锆刚玉耐熔体侵蚀性好，作为一种高级磨料，可制造高性能的重负荷砂轮，对钢件、铸铁件、耐热钢、以及各种合金材料有很好的磨削作用；另外，锆刚玉还是一种高级耐火原料，是制作高性能的滑动水口及浸入式水口的理想材料 ，还可用于制作玻璃熔窑用锆刚玉砖。
运输与装卸：在运输过程中，不得用铁钩拖拽，应防止与坚硬物质混装，不可强烈振动、磨擦、踩、 砸，严禁抛掷，应轻装轻卸，以减少包装破碎，影响使用。
储存：应储存于阴凉干燥处，防止内外包装袋破裂，防止受潮和吸附空气中其它物质，影响使用效果。严禁与有毒有害气体或易挥发物质混放，存放要远离污染源。
